It’s a 2.5 hour ride with two transfers up the mountain and two coming back down. Our TV in the hotel has a panorama camera looking at the top and it’s registering -11 degrees Celsius! Hopefully we come back with our blood still pumping! We’re back from our day on the mountain and what a day it was!!! After eating a nice breakfast at our hotel we walked over to the train station to see our train pulling away. The next train didn’t leave for an hour so we walked through the town of Interlaken to kill time. It’s a cute Swiss town with an old Gothic church and lots of snow on the ground. The weather was nice today, cold but dry. We make our way back to the train station, get on the train and we’re bound for Jungfrau. Two train transfers and 2.5 hours later we find ourselves 3454 m (11332 ft) above sea level, the highest in Europe. The views are breathtaking – literally! As soon as we step off the train we find ourselves trying to catch our breaths. The first part of the walk to the top goes through the famous ice palace. We’re seriously walking through the middle of frozen mountain on ice. Definitely unlike anything we’ve ever seen before. Out of the ice palace we walk up a couple flights of stairs, slowly …
