This weekend several peaceful protest meetings (Festivals of the Republic) were held in western Turkey (Aegean region). Namely, meetings were held in Canakkale, Manisa, and Marmaris, a vacation resort popular with European tourists. Canakkale is in both Europe and Asia since it stretches along the Dardanelles between the Sea of Marmara and the Aegean Sea. Gelibolu Peninsula lies on the European side and the Biga Peninsula on the Asian side. Hence, the city sits on both continents. Turkish people again peacefully protested the Islamic AKP government’s actions which are based on religious convictions rather than the rule of law and constitution. The clip starts with the Turkish National Anthem and continues with Ileri Marsi.
